Christmas has obviously come and gone. This is more for journaling purposes, but on Christmas Eve, we decided to treat Siena to a little Christmas magic. As I was putting her to bed, Jonathan ran outside her window and with bells caroling, exclaimed, "Ho, Ho, Ho! Merry Christmas!" Siena shot straight out of bed and yelled, "SANTA!!!!" She was jumping up and down she was so excited. I told her that she had to lay back down to go to bed because Santa couldn't leave her a present if she was out of bed, so she quickly got back into bed and then asked if I could open the door to the bedroom. When I asked her why she wanted to door open, she said, "so Santa can come in". Seeing that excitement in her eyes was one of the most cherished moments for me as a parent.
Two major bucketlist items have been crossed off the list this year. The first is that Jonathan and I took the class to get our concealed handgun license. The debate is still out as to whether I want a handgun in the home, but at least we have the option now.
The second is that Jonathan and I are going visit the United Kingdom in March! As Student Body President Jonathan gets to go to visit Chichester College in south England, as part of an exchange. A majority of my ancestory is from Scotland, so it's been a dream of mine to visit and an even bigger dream of my mom's to go, so we decided, along with my younger sister, that we should make the dream happen. The funniest thing about this trip is that Jonathan and I will travel thousands of miles to another continent and not see each other while we're there. I can't wait to see such an amazing piece of history.
